A country’s cultural sensitivities determine the elements allowed in a movie or tv show at each age level. No two countries are the same. Violence in a movie that is rated PG-13 in the U.S. may be rated age 16 or higher in other countries. Similarly, a movie with profanity or nudity suitable for older children in Europe is often rated “R” or Restricted in the U.S.
